Terroir
Rich and heavy soil with varying soil structures, gently inclined, sunny south facing slopes and a mild climate form the characteristics for the ideal terroir of our sites – a wonderful location for cultivation.
There is no grape variety capable of reproducing the particularities of its terroir as remarkably well as the Riesling. Its green-yellow colour is a sign of freshness, its flavour is spicy and lively – a “spritzig-witzig-fruity" taste.

Schloss Reinhartshausen’s Estate comprises a total of 15 different vineyard sites within the districts of Erbach, Hattenheim and Kiedrich. Each of these sites is recognised for its very individual character fundamentally influenced by soil variations and microclimate. From this variety, only the most valuable and precious vineyards are chosen for classified wines and “first growth”. Cuvée from the remaining vineyards are established as our Gutsweine (Estate wines).
